Tim Schreiner began his EMS career in 2001 after answering a call for volunteers to start up a much needed first responder organization in rural Wisconsin. In those formative years there was little to no understanding of mental health in the first responder profession or the toll trauma and repetitive exposures can take on responders.
After his own battle with mental health, the fallout of poor life choices, and years of unresolved psychological trauma, Tim returned to EMS from a 5 year hiatus and is currently a Paramedic with a busy 911 service in the greater Houston area. When Tim returned to EMS he made a commitment to help other first responders fight the stigma of mental illness and the effects of burnout. Tim is passionate about mental health resiliency including policy/protocol reform, peer-to-peer support, defusing, chaplaincy care and educational training.
Tim lives in the nontraditional confines of a 43’ RV with his wife and their three young children in The Woodlands, Texas. He is an outdoor adventurist, a self proclaimed handyman and a substitute homeschool teacher.
